Website Relaunch & Design System for Continental Tires and its Sub-Brands.

Continental Tires | Automotive Industry
A new Continental tire is presented in the center against a cracked, dry soil background. The tire has distinct tread patterns and the Continental logo on its sidewall. The brand's name and logo are also displayed at the top of the image.

The project

Continental Tires has been a long-standing client that I managed at think moto for over three years. Starting with the website relaunch and a global design system to the rollout of the new websites. Together with Continental Tires, we turned tires into a sensual premium product for which the website provides the perfect stage.

Research

The initial step for the website relaunch was an intensive research phase into user groups and competitors. I primarily supported the team in creating a UX audit and competitor analysis. These analyses were carried out again at the beginning of 2023 to ensure that our strategies are always up to date.

DELIVERABLES

Website Strategy Design

In the conceptual phase, I developed the new sitemap for the Continental Tires website at the market level. I was also heavily involved in the wireframe creation process. Our approach was to create a modular system that can be flexibly adapted to the needs of different markets.

On our conceptual foundation, the visual team brought the website to life. They developed a completely new icon set and assisted in selecting assets to perfectly showcase the digital presence of Continental Tires. The new website launched in early 2022.

 The image is a design mockup showcasing various website elements, including headlines, color swatches, icon buttons, and a selection menu.

Globales Design System

To make the new design as sustainable as possible and accessible to everyone, we documented all design elements and website modules in an extensive design system. I led the content development in this project and significantly contributed to the creation of the design system. To this day, the design system is constantly updated and used by developers.

SOlution for Secondary Brands

In parallel to the redesign of Continental Tires, think moto also conceptualized and designed for 9 secondary brands of the company. In a white-label solution style, the design of all brands was refreshed and documented together with the Continental Tires design as a design system.

Global Hub

Finally, we expanded the design from the market levels to the global page of the Continental Tires website. For this, we developed several new modules and integrated them into the design system. The website has been live since mid-2023.
